This October, Smartvatten hosted its fourth Customer Day in Finland, bringing together a select group of leaders and experts from ten water utilities nationwide. The event gathered utility directors, operational experts, planners, and specialists in data and automation, all dedicated to advancing how water utilities operate and manage resources.
The day was packed with presentations from our Smartvatten for Utilities team as we shared the latest analyses, insights, and product developments tailored to address the evolving needs of water utilities. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, the event not only celebrated Smartvatten's achievements but also served as a platform for our clients to exchange thoughts and experiences they’ve had with our service, as well as best practices on utilizing data and enhancing management in the water utilities business.
Throughout the day, we engaged with our customers on various topics, sharing insights from recent analyses and updates on Smartvatten’s platform development. We delved into our new data-driven tools and visualizations, focusing on how these innovations simplify operations and enhance strategic planning for utilities. Our presentations outlined the continuous improvement efforts we’re making to ensure that our system remains responsive to industry demands and the growing challenges utilities face in managing water resources sustainably.
One significant area of focus was the talks around data quality monitoring and enhanced service levels. We sought to measure our client's interest in enhancing these aspects of our service, which could further boost efficiency and data integrity for utilities. The feedback from attendees regarding these potential additions was very encouraging, and we look forward to exploring these further.
We received excellent feedback on our customer day, with an NPS score of 76 indicating strong satisfaction and trust among our utility partners. Additionally, the average rating for the event was an impressive 4.7 out of 5 stars, reflecting the value our customers found in the content and engagement opportunities.
During feedback sessions, attendees highlighted several features of the Smartvatten system as their favorites. The top-listed capabilities included:
Map Visualizations: An intuitive way to see and manage the overall status of utility networks.
Quick Status Checks: The ability to assess system conditions at a glance, supporting rapid decision-making.

“I was happy to participate, and the day fulfilled my expectations. The long breaks were great because some of the sharpest minds of the field were present at this event.”, remarked one of the attending water utilities managers.
This feedback reaffirms our commitment to data accessibility and visualization, allowing users to navigate complex data quickly and intuitively.
The attendees provided valuable insights on how we could enhance future Customer Days. There was a strong call for more presentations from utility representatives, where participants could share their own experiences, challenges, and successes. This knowledge exchange among industry peers was identified as a particularly valuable aspect of the event, and we’re excited to incorporate more of this feedback in our future planning.
Overall, the consensus was to continue with the current event format, which balances informative presentations, interactive discussions, and opportunities for participants to engage directly with Smartvatten’s tools and team.
The 4th Smartvatten Customer Day underscored our commitment to listening to our customers and tailoring our solutions to meet their needs. By fostering this collaborative environment, we aim to create a dynamic partnership that drives innovation in the water utility sector. As we look forward to our next event, we remain focused on enhancing our offerings and supporting utilities in their essential work for communities across Finland, and abroad.
