Yet millions of people face water scarcity every day and by 2030, up to 40% of the world’s population could be affected. At Smartvatten, we believe clean water is too valuable to waste.

Our story

From startup to international partner

Smartvatten was founded in Finland in 2013 with a simple belief: sustainability should be practical and easy to implement. We began by producing energy certificates for property owners, but quickly discovered a major blind spot: water. Many buildings were wasting significant amounts of water, yet there were no clear tools to understand or manage consumption.

Today, Smartvatten has grown from a two-person startup into an international company with offices across Europe and customers around the world. With years of experience and vast amounts of data, we help organizations turn water information into meaningful action.
